Artists at Home is here again and this year 51 artists in our area invite you to their homes or studios from 13-15 June. As usual, there is a rich diversity of works on show: painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, textiles, printmaking, jewellery and mosaic.

The more artists that join the scheme, the greater the buzz over the weekend, as visitors energetically go from one address to another. We welcome families and are quite familiar with the sight of small babies staring with puzzled expressions at large canvases, buggies in the hall and bikes in the front garden. Some people focus on just a few artists, whilst others show an impressive dedication to the Fletchers Art Buyers’ Prize Draw (click here to go to Prize Draw page). We are, as always, extremely grateful to Fletcher Estates for making this possible as part of their imaginative principal sponsorship of AAH. Making art can be a lonely process, especially for those who work in isolation, and after one has invested so much time and energy it is really important to have an opportunity to stand back and let the viewers engage with the work. It is this synergetic process which is fundamental to the success of AAH; it is so much more than the sum of the parts. Thank you for the crucial part which you play.
